Planes Off All

Overview

Planes Off All is a utility command that turns off (makes invisible) all coordinate system planes in every top-level component within the active assembly, excluding nested components. This command is ideal for decluttering your workspace and focusing on the geometry of your assembly without distraction from reference planes. By running Planes Off All, you can quickly hide all work planes in the main components of your assembly, making it easier to review and edit your design.

This command is an extension of the Planes Off command, which toggles planes for selected components. Planes Off All applies the same logic to all top-level components, ensuring that only the main parts in your assembly are affected, while nested sub-assemblies remain unchanged.

How It Works

  1. Iterates through all top-level components in the active assembly.
  2. Turns off the visibility of the standard coordinate system planes for each component.
  3. If a component contains a document parameter named "ShowPlanes" and a rule is set up to respond to this parameter, those custom work planes will also be toggled off.
  4. Nested components and sub-assemblies are not affected by this command.

Usage Instructions

  1. Open the assembly you wish to clean up.
  2. Activate the Planes Off All command from the toolbar or menu.
  3. The command will automatically process all top-level components and turn off all coordinate system planes.
  4. If you have custom rules set up for the "ShowPlanes" parameter, those work planes will also be hidden.
  5. Review your assembly to confirm that only the desired geometry is visible.
